Bedding in new pads

Up until last weekend my rear brake was fine , could lock the rear wheel with ease etc .. anyway last weekend I managed to kill the pads which obviously made the rear braking shite, changed the pads today and it's pretty much still the same .. do they need bedding in etc ?

They will seat themselves within a mile or so.
If you went all the way down to the metal on the pads, the rotor maybe contaminated.

Yep! Check the rotor is still true and not chewed out. Give it a clean. Double check the pedal actually pushes the pistons out. If needed go and drop a few hard stops on a solid surface and they should bed in quick enough.
