Be sure to drain the gas prior to storing it in your living space. Breathing in gasoline fumes while you are sleeping isn't a good thing...

When we were kids - my friend Les (LTR Suspension) had a game room downstairs in his home that they converted into a shop - we worked on his bikes inside the house for many years - he has a very, very cool dad...

Years later, both Les and his sister were diagnosed with M.S. - attacks the nervous system. I always wonder if this was somehow related to the gas fumes and chemicals we used in his house.

Hey, why not? I usually tear mine down during the winter, but its cold as hell here in my garage. Once the dirty work has been done, I'll roll it into the rec room with the pellet stove to do the clean work. My divorced neighbor is soon getting a Ducati Monster, and that will live in the house!

Keeping bikes in the house

I see no problems keeping bikes in the house. Been doing it for years.
This one is ready to go minus the gas.

But I have kept a bike with gas in the tank and can not smell anything
when I come home. I hope there is no long term effects..long term effects... :D
Maybe I am just numb to the.........what were we talking about?!?!?!? Oh yea..
I love the smell of VP4.2 and Castor 927 in the morning....
Cheers, Jeff So. Cal.

You guys and wanting to keep your bikes inside :p Why not just do what me EX did.......set the garage up so you don't even have to come in ROFL

But I see know reason not to have it inside if need be...I have let my ex and my son do it many times....well before tha garage was done :D

Im having a little problem with the garage.

So some of the bikes gotta sit inside. :D
They take turns. Each one gets a couple
of weeks or so.

If mine has fuel in the tank, I'll simply run the carb dry or drain it, and clamp the cap vent hose with a pair of hemostats. No problems. My wife doesn't mind me doing this so I can get a job done without freezing my ass off, but if she smells gas then it becomes a problem.

FYI, this also applies to Toy Haulers or enclosed trailers that you plan to sleep in.

Actually the EC250SM is up front next to the truck hood in that
picture. This picture was taken a couple of years ago. Since then
we have added a couple more bikes to the stable. The order gets
shuffled around quite a lot.

Yea, the old Ford does take up a lot of bike room. I have had
that truck since I was in High School back in 1973-1975. Kind
of hard to part with it now.

A 12 step program would only take care of 2/3's of the problem.
And I would still be a bikeaholic.

You just gotta find the right girl. My girlfriend insisted I keep my trials bike in the living room so I can practice balancing on it (as soon as we get hers back from the shop it will be right beside mine). We also have a room inside the house that is 'the bike room' where we keep the enduro bikes, tools, parts, etc and another room that is my office/'the gear room' where all the riding gear, snowboards, etc is kept. She's also the Canadian Women's Enduro Champ and won the Desert 100 and AMA enduro in Montana last year and we're planning on both racing the isde next year. Yep, she's a keeper.

I should say so.
My GF feels the same way about bikes in the house. No problem.
They are better to look at than some funky Velvet Elvis picture on the wall.
