Bike won't start - suggestions please.

12oz on a 2K-3? Thats a lot of weight. Likely it sheared from coming loose, I'd loctite it this time.

2k3 I think - it's the heavier/more powerful euro ignition.

I'll have a think what to do when I re-assemble but I'm a bit wary of locktiting the weight and nut on as there's no tool to remove the weight you have to grip the outside with and turn - this time I made a 'tool' of some rubber and 2 jubile clips to remove the weight I could hammer the jubilee clip screw portion and this was enough to remove the weight - if it's too tight I don't know how you would get it off and applying heat may damage the crank seal.

What I'm thinking is I'll put the ignition on and get that as tight as posssible as the friction between the crank and the cover will help to stop it spinning - i'll de-grease the shaft first. Then put the FWW and nut on and probably just tight maybe some locktite.

When I first installed the weight I had no problems for 3 years only now since the rebuild (which I didn't do) have I got this problem.

Didn't manage to get it rebuilt in time for Wed practice but it's nearly together now.

Gave it a quick test and it fired up first kick, wasn't even a proper kick just a half hearted effort.

Let it warm up a bit stopped it and restarted it , again 1st kick with little effort.

Hopefully will be out on it on Bank Holiday Monday.
