Break in period

I have rebuilt my top end, new piston rings and small end bearing.

Can anyone recommend how long to break them in and what sort of throttle.

be sure you didn't leave a piece of paper towel in the exhaust manifold like I did. <:-(

I think you will find many different opinions on this.

I personally don't think there is a need for break in anymore. With today's technology engines are built with a much tighter tolerance so you don't need to break in.

Manufacturers like ducati run their motors at like 9,000 rpm for a few minutes in order to pass quality to be put into their bikes.

Already spent 2 hours trying to start it until I found a rag i left in the air filter housing
