Hi everybody!

Just found this tonight on a routine maintenance. The clevis of my '03 Ohlins shock is broken. I'm looking for opinions... Welding? Buy a new part?

I am from Canada Thanks for any inputs.

I'd be checking the swingarm and shock link bushings just in case they are worn enough to cause a side load that would have broken your shock. It could have been fatigue and old age but it would suck to put repaired or new shock on and have it do the same thing.

Yeah there was a little play in the botom shock bearing...but all others as still in great shape since they are installed for about a season.

I will buy a new clevis.

Is it hard to replace? Can you tell me please how to replace the clevis? Do I need a special tool or a press? Is is an easy job?

Thanks a lot.:)

The 2 settings washers was not in place for some unknown reasons so this is the reason for the breakage...The shock is now at a suspension shop for repair and maintenance.

Thanks

It's a lot easier if you have both ears of the clevis intact

Basically the procedure is to slide a rod through the clevis bolt holes and turn while holding the rod in a vise.
