Hi people,

I know very little on how to do what I want to do regards to putting together a 2nd hand ec 300

I'm making videos to entertain others and myself during the build

Any help would be great in the weeks to come

Here is the link to my 1st episode of the Gas Gas Ec 300 Build Series

Enjoy

Hi I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I should have episode 2 ready in a week or so.

It's 2004, my girlfriends dad gave it me for a Xmas present. It's road registered. He bought it from someone who put oversized piston rings in it and blew the engine. The guy took the whole bike apart and couldn't be bothered in the end so sold it.

My gain I guess lol

Thanks for the comment hope you enjoy the series

I need to buy a frame bolt kit but don't know where from any ideas ? Also long shot but I also need a washer, thrust washers I think they are called or setting washer 22.4x36x0.7 I've searched and no result any clues would be helpful

Thanks

nice jay, like it! enjoying following this! Im an admin for a mainly uk based gasgas facebook site and i'll share it on there! looking forward to number 3!

So episode 3 is in the making, cups have been cleaned, new thrust washes have been installed few bolts etc.

Front forks, is there a way to install them as in how far through the triple clamp do they sit? There is 2 lines right at the top of the forks where the adjust screw is, is that a marker ?

Cheers in advance

when I got my bike the forks tops were flush with the top yoke, if you push the forks up through the yokes you get faster steering at the expense of stability, Ive ended up bang on those little marks you mention, makes sense to me!

Yeah me too, I've ran into a problem with my forks they are leaking oil. So new seals are needed. I zoomed in on Google images of the bike and they look flush or a mm or 2 above where the lines are. Thanks for the reply episode 3 is here if your interested https://youtu.be/W0ol0Gk_IT8

Question

What would you do next to the bike?

I am having trouble with what order to build the bike in.

It has engine, subframe, triple clamp, front and rear suspension.

I'm thinking carb or air box or maybe radiators? I don't know please suggest.

Thanks

When I get a bike to your stage. Motor and all motor related items. Rads, carb, airbox, wiring. Then once thats done I go front to back. Wheel, bars, tank etc. its simple start at the front and work towards the back.

Where can I get the rubber hose connector from air box to carb from?

Any ideas? Is there something I could use instead?

Cheers

Jay
