Caney Creek?

Chris.
Had a great time also.
Those metal brake pads ruined my 1st test section. I swapped back to my old pads and hammered down.

The gumbo was off the chain. Had some last night.

Gas Gas was well represented at the Caney Creek Enduro. At the first gas stop i over heard one fellow say "there,s another Gas Gas and its a six days" in disbelief, and that was before he saw mine. Gasser,s were well ridden also. Hayden Franklin was 1st in the AA class. Girard rocked the masters class, and I had my first win in an enduro, +40B class. Bill Bray finished 3rd in the +40A class, Bills row was all Gassers. One other Gas Gas was near the top of the overall, but im not sure who he was. It was a hard race 60 miles of test section, the majority of it being sandy whoops. I am sore.

Yes Martin was overall winner, Hayden was 1st AA. When you overall you get bumped from the class and everyone in your class moves up one position. Not trying to take anything away from Martin, his ride was incredible. Did not mention him because he was not on a Gas Gas.

Martin is AA. Hayden finished 2nd. I understand you are highlighting GasGas at this race. I'm a GasGas lover too. Just what are saying is not accurate. If Martin was A, then yes, Hayden would have been top AA, but Martin is AA, as it is listed on the results.

I understand that Hayden got a trophy that says AA 1st Place, but in reality, he finished 2nd. Don't know why they do that, b/c it confuses people.

True.
Martin will get 22 AA points for the Overall.
Haydn will get 20 AA points for the 1st place.

Once again, if you overall your class, whether it be A,B,C you are bumped from your group and are deemed the overall winner for that class. The overall winners receive 22 points, first place winners receive 20 points. The people in the group of the overall winner are automatically bumped up one position. Martin received a trophy for being the overall winner. Hayden received trophy for being AA winner.

My earlier post was just a statement of how many Gas Gas bikes were at the event. And congratulations to several of those riders that had a great ride that day. I did that on this forum gasgasrider.org because it seems appropriate. If however I was logged in on yamaharider.org my story would have been different.

My earlier post was accurate, and still is. Not understanding something does not make that something untrue.

To confirm what Boyscout said. At Concho enduro I got 3rd place in open B but because the overall B winner came from my class I ended up getting 2nd place. It is a little confusing. I am not sure how many series do it this way.

First off, the fact that Martin is on Yamaha, is pure coincidence. I'm a GasGas guy and a Yamaha guy. I wish GasGas would dominate the off road world. I've owned one, and can't wait to own another. I also wish I could have found a late model GasGas for $1800 like I did my YZ. I know exactly what you were doing when you made your post. GasGas was indeed well represented. I saw quite a few at the race and Hayden has been doing a great job on the GasGas.

2nd, I completely understand and have understood for years this award system of removing the Overall winners and award 1st place to the 2nd place finisher. I know all about it. I thought you knew where I was going with this when I asked "who got first place points". In fact, I have a "1st Place B-Vet" trophy that I received in 2006 for finishing 2nd, and the real winner happen to Overall B that day, so they gave the 1st place trophy to me. I also know that everytime I look at it, I didn't earn it, b/c in "reality" I finished 2nd.

3rd, I'm not trying to piss you off. I've been laughing while typing the whole time. It isn't your fault that they choose to do this goofy stuff. The way you presented it though, implied that Hayden won AA. Which is NOT accurate no matter which way you or TSCEC slices it. I have nothing against Hayden, nor any special feelings for Martin. The fact is that they are both AA, and one of them beat the other, so they can give out trophies to everyone that entered and that will not change the fact that Mr. Howell won the AA class that day and Mr. Franklin finished 2nd.

Again, this is splitting hairs and I don't want to create enemies for no reason. I have no ill will towards you Boyscout and I don't care to bicker over this goofy award system. I prefer to make friends. Just the way you posted it, didn't represent the actual outcome of the AA class for the 2011 Caney Creek Enduro.

With that, I'm done with the public bickering. If you wish to continue this, pm me. I hope you don't let this hinder any future encounters with me.

Just for the record, apparently Martin was on a Honda when he won Caney Creek. Results that listed Yamaha was wrong.
