Clickers on the 2012 300R forks...

I don't have a manual yet for my bike (2012 300 Race)...
Can somebody explain to me which clickers are which on these forks?
Thanks in advance!

48mm Closed Chamber. Compression on the top. Rebound on the bottom. No idea what stock settings are. I'd start in the middle and adjust as required.

Thanks guys... The front end is pushing in tuns, so I was going to back off the rebound a couple of clicks to try it... Rebound adjustment was at the top of the fork on my Husaberg... I figured it was at the bottom on the Gasser, but I wasn't positive.
I was surprised that there was no cap on the bottom of the fork legs to keep trail trash out of the adjusters though...
Should there be?

If its pushing, you don't want to back off rebound, you want to try adding more. Its been noted that these forks may be a little light on rebound valving, but thats only one of several things that could be causing the problem.

Yep! Turn the clickers in.. Add rebound damping.. Slow the rebound action..

Its the terminology that gets me. If you add too much it'll start to tuck in on corners.

I curerntly have my 12' fork set at 20 comp, 15 reb and 1 pfp, i will go to 2 pfp before this weekends ride.

I set rear shock preload at 9mm, this put me in the correct sag range. Is the little 3mm allen bolt on the bottom of the Ohlins the rebound adjustment? I need to slow the rebound down on the shock. If it is the rebound I am assuming clicks in, is the way I want to go???

Yep and yep! Its a pain to get to with the allen key but thats the rebound and in will slow it.

Thanks Jakobi, ohlins must have changed it or the new linkage geometry allows for easier access. It's parallel to the lower shock bolt and very easy to get too.

LOL! That's what I meant... I could see it in my mind, but it got lost before reaching the keyboard...

Thats an improvement for sure! On the 2010 with the TTX it has athe CSC adjuster in the same place. Lines up right between the dog bones!

I too found that it needed the rebound cranked in on the front a little more than normal. Too fast rebound for my taste so will get that changed in the valving during the first service at 20hrs or so. The forks are awesome though. They soak up all the trail hack and work even better the harder you ride it.

I have my suspension as good as I can get it and undoubtably need it revalved.
The rear shock is absolutly awesome, floats practically where as the forks have too much rebound.
I adjusted the front and rear until I could do my little whooped track near flat in 4th and ended up with the rebound all the way in , pfp 2 out, compression 8-10 out.
Not sure what the rear is but it is great.
I will be looking into who to get to do my forks asap.
I will probably go a 5.4 in the rear and a step up in the front also in spring rates .
Weigh about 190pounds( 90kg)
Cheers Mark

Is it a high speed or low speed rebound issue? Too little HS rebound can sometimes feel like and be mistaken for a compression problem, as the fork snaps back very fast and harsh from a deep compression. Low speed just feels loose and high, more work to settle the fork and turn.

I'm down to 176lbs now. Hoping I can get by with stock springs.

The first 2012s had the rebound screw facing forward - later builds have it on the kickstart side.

It feels more like the first one. The fork does kick back really quick and the only way I got it near was to wind rebound all the way in .
I have also got the compression set up slower too.
Don't get me wrong the suspension, now, is the best it has been and is way better than the worked 07 , but, I don't have anywhere to adjust from here.

The '07 Zokes had the same problem. If you ride rocks it must be fixed. A stiffer high speed section of the stack fixes it nicely. You can't dial it out with the clickers.
