Clutch adjustment?

I had the same thing happen with my 200. The fix was to change the clutch basket and hub (due to grooving) then vacuum bleed using the pump.

Try the vacuum bleed with the pump first to make sure you the system can hold pressure. If you accidentally let air in the line no matter how many times you try bleeding it you will not get pressure without without vacuum bleeding first.

Good luck

Vacuum bleeding? What is that?

I've always bled brakes and clutches the normal pumping way or in reverse with a syringe, both ways for difficult ones, and got them to work fine.

!

My bleeder valve finally came in (I havent picked it up yet so I dont know if it will fit... I took my chances on a 7mm speedbleeder) I am still really confused about the vacuum thing. I want to buy a hand pump and vacuum the fluid out so I can start over, but I dont understand how I am supposed to do that. Does the pump have a tube that goes over the end of the bleeder valve?

vacuum bleeding might be the wrong term but it using either the hand pump or the compressor bleeder to pull all the air out. We call it vacuum bleeding cause its similar to pulling vacumm on A/C.

Way back on the first page I mentioned the Mighty Vac which is a hand vacuum pump which can be used for bleeding brakes and other vac related mechanical stuff on cars. You can get them at any auto parts store, and yes a tube presses on to the bleeder and you suck the fluid through the system.

I think I have the MV8020 http://www.mityvac.com/pages/products_hvpk.asp

Looks like it could be fast solution - can you use them on your own? Have visions of it sucking all the fluid then air through before I have time to pour it in the master reservoir!

Update:

Interesting find.. Apparantly ADVANCED AUTO has a vacuum pump kit that you can borrow with a deposit ($51). It comes with all kinds of hoses and attachments to bleed brakes and other hydraulic lines. I will be picking one up this afternoon. My speed bleeders came in, but I have a feeling I wont be able to get the old bleeder valve out without stripping the threads :/ I am going to try the easy-out method after work and see where it gets me.
