Clutch problem again? I keep breaking the fiber plates. i sanded the basket down and it is smooth. The metal plates look good but could they cause the problem. i use moose fiber plates. what else could cause it??????????

If there is a lot fore and aft plateslop in the basket, that could cause them to break...also bad cushions, #11 on the fiche "silent block"
Filing down the ridges on the basket fingers is only a quick fix to get you thru a ride or two..IMHO...if the basket is that grooved that it needs filing, the basket is toast.

Yes, and the additional play makes the impacts from the plates to basket fingers harder, making things worse.
