Coolant Surge Tank Relocation?

Hey guys,
as I changed the headlight on my EC 250 the coolant surge tank rubs against the socket of the bulb when turning.
My plan was now to put a surge tank somewhere in the back of the bike/under the seat.
I would connect the 2 radiators via standard tubing with a T-Piece between them, that leads a hose to the new surge tank.
This should work, right?

Looks simple and practical. But I do not quite get how the coolant should go back into the radiator after overheating.

I haven't got what for a catch tank is. In Europe I have never ever seen a single enduro bike with one...

The OEM tank is just for coolant expansion.

The catch tank collects coolant that has blown past the radiator cap.
When the coolant cools off, the coolant is sucked back into the radiator.

It should really be called an 'Expansion Tank'. As the coolant heats it expands and flows into the expansion tank, it doesn't have to overheat, just normal running temperatures.

Once the engine is stopped and the coolant cools it will syphon out of the expansion tank. The tube into the expansion tank must reach the bottom of the tank, otherwise it will just suck air into the system rather than syphoning the coolant back into the system.
