i have to ask this because this bike i bought is all stock and never torn apart all origonal its a 2002 200 ec with verry low hours..i know from my stock cranks in rms did not seem to hold up verry long till i put a hot rods crank in and they seem to last forever.. Longevity on gas gas middle crank bearing on the rod dieing?

i have a 04 ec 300 its all factory never been touched still going and runs awesome im the 3rd owner couldnt tell you how many hrs is on it and mine get rode every sunday just about ive had the bike about 2 yrs

I have over 200 hours on my 07 with all stock internals except the piston. A mix of racing and trail riding. See if Stainlesscycle chimes in, he ran an 00' 200 for years and years on at least the stock piston.

crank seemed indestructible, never an issue.. piston ran for way too long - like 1000 hours before blowup. probably metal fatigue on piston caused blowup.

The OEM rod kit is actually a Japaneese Vesrah, same size as a Honda CR250. Nice thing about the GG200 as far as durability is concerned is its based on the 250, not a bored/stroked and stressed out 125.

Run a good synthetic at 32:1 to 40:1 and jet for it, clean filter, and it will run a long time. Good idea to change top end @ 100 hrs, even if compression is good, like any 2 stroke.

Anything left idle in damp conditions can cause problems with big end. Hopefully that is not the case.

my '02 200 is still going strong with new owner. Never touched the bottom end & did the piston out of guilt, but even the rings were still in spec for end gap. Not only that, but at the new end of in spec. Amazing. Piston looked new.
