crank nut keeps loosening/thread lock

Hi gents

on my ec 300 the locking nut that hold the drive coge and balance disc thing in places keeps coming loose, i tightened it to 60nm at least last time and still it comes loose.
im going to replace the nut as i think there is something wrong with it, im just wondering what thread lock to use as the manual does not say to use any. but im getting a bit cheesed with taking the casing of to tighten. keeping in mind that it may have to come of one day.

Loctite

Loctite 270 it definately works!!

if you need to take if off later just apply gentle heat then will come off no problemo.
 
You need to make sure you've got every trace of oil off both the thread and nut before you put it back together and torque it up- if you don't it'll never work. I found if I then left it for 24 hours before refilling with oil it worked a treat. Good luck.
 
Tigger hit the nail on the head. This is why so many Cannondales blew up, rushed assembly and testing before loctite cured on the critical cassete trans bolts.

That pinion nut should have a big tabbed lockwasher anyway, so it can't really back off.
