Crankcase Seal Removal

Right crankcase seal removal - how can it be done without ruining the seal? I need a seal and have a 200 engine that I can borrow one from but it looks like it will destroy the seal to get it out. Does anyone know the size of the seal so I can get one locally?

I'm not going to say it can't be done but the only way I can think of would be to seal off the entire engine and use compressed air to pop it out. Of course the seal on the flywheel side would probably come out first (murphys law) and then you would be stuck. You could probably have one overnighted from GoFasters for $20 total so why go through the hassle?

My son (it's his bike) is supposed to have one on order but a last minute chance to ride this Wednesday left me less than24 hours to fix the bike so I looked for other options. I'm riding anyway - my son will just have to sit this ride out.

I wouldn't do it with a crank seal, even with a seal puller your likely to damage it. Get a couple of the common seals and gaskets and keep them on hand for situations like this.
