Did the front axle change from '01 to '13?

Just got around to trying to put the front wheel on my 01 with the Marzocchi 48s. Holes in the 48s for the axle are significantly larger. Also have supermoto wheels from motocrosscenter and the wheels also take a larger axle. Roughly 25mm is what I get at the bearings. I've measured the new wheel spacers as well.

Does this sound right? Axle part numbers for 01 and 13 are the same. - Scratch that. Last 4 digits are the same, but not the first.

Are there any common bikes with an axle that'll work?

My 01 gasser had the smaller axle. Sometime prior to 07 they changed to a larger hollow axle. I don't know if there was two different sizes of it but when I lost the axle nut Gofasters sent me one that was too big to screw inside the axle so either: (1) they had more than one size of the larger hollow axel, (2) gasgas drilled and tapped the larger axle in more than one size, or (3) the axle nut they sent me was not for a gasser. The next replacement nut they sent me fit perfectly.

Using GoFaster's microfiche I was able to locate all the parts I need. Needed a few odds and ends anyway. Guess it isn't worth the headache of trying to find stuff that works. Apparently 25mm axles are common on Harley Davidsons  but I'm sure it would be a few trips to the machinist to get it right for the gasser.
