Dirty Faces poker run. Vantage WA

I attended a Poker run on Saturday as a preparation ride for the Desert 100. This was a low-key affair with bikes, quads, side by sides, kids, everybody on the trail at the same time. Was lots of sand and lots of fun. Approximately 25 mile loop, I did two laps. I found at the end that the "hard" sections were just added miles, so I could have done a 40 mile loop at one shot. Oh well, good to know for next year.

Enjoy the videos! Bike ran great, jetting was close enough that I didn't really notice any shortcomings. But then again, I'm not one to pay attention to those details.

That's some crazy terrain; how'd your airbox look after the ride...lol?

Nothing like whoops in the sand

Looks like a great time :D

GREAT question. I have no idea the condition of the air filter, I'll know more this coming weekend when I tear it apart to prep for the Desert 100.

and yeah, whoops in deep sand is pretty special. It's easier than whoops through hard terrain as the sand helps slow the bike and suspension to keep you from pogoing off the tops (and fronts, and backs, and sides...).

Going east to ride is usually the only time my air filter gets really dirty.
I guess that's one Benefit of all the rain, the air filter doesn't't get all plugged up,over here on west side.

Couple of my friends went to the event . I asked them how it was and they said it was 30miles of sand wooped hell. :D

A co-workers boyfriend, went to that event. And today is at straddling O.R.V., I wonder if it's someone you know?
Does 1 of your riding buddies have a K.T.M. 500, or K.X.F. 450?

Just wondering because he's from our area.

Hard to say if I know him. I know a couple of guys with 500's, but they don't do rides like that (and not from here). Can only think of one KXF that I know, I don't know if he lives around here, but he works in Everett (Boeing).

I know a guy who has an old 2T KAWI 500. He usually rides at desert 100. And basically rides the thing like a crazy man....

He did go to the Vantage poker run, and straddleline orv today. But he has never been to the D100.
Sorry for thread jack-just thought it was possible that Phil new him. He lives in the area.
