Sorry,I dont know the name of the part.:confused:It is the hollow metal part that holds the needle down, threads into the slide of the carb, also the end of the throttle cable slips into. The carb is on a 03 300.Does anyone have one laying around they would like to sell or who sells them, tried my local shop,no go.Any help would be great.:D

CPW is good. You should also be able to get them from any decent parts stocking dealer that sells bikes with Keihin carbs.

Dropped my new brass in the carb this morning, following the stainless setup for the moment.

Seemed very nice but maybe a bit fat up top. I'll be able to tell better at the track. And I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve about jetting, so...
I don't mind being a copycat.

But, getting back on topic. I hate installing this cable holder do dad. I guess there's no easy way if the other end of the cable is hooked up. I end up spinning the slide rather than trying to spin the nut driver (and cable holder do dad).

Is there a trick I'm missing?

remove cable. use nut driver to put holder in. compress spring and plastic holder. install cable.

hope the jetting works for you. if you're at 1000' and 90+ degrees it should be close - keep in mind i'm running a messico pipe, and tighter than 1.2mm squish, and 112 octane....... i can get almost 3 hours race pace out of a tank. crazy efficient.

Yes.

While holding the slide in your left hand.
Pull up on the spring and white retainer, compressing it against the carb cover.
Pinch the white retainer -with your index finger and thumb-against the throttle cable.
While pinching the throttle cable, push the cable into the needle retainer and remove the throttle cable ball end.
remove the needle retainer with a 6mm nut driver.

remove cable. use nut driver to put holder in. compress spring and plastic holder. install cable.
.

That's the way I used to do it.
Funny how I unlearn stuff sometimes.

The jetting seems promising. Looking forward to wringing it out.

I'm at 13 feet here. Walk to the beach.
Checking the track... wow, 35 miles away and only six feet higher (on the banks of the CT river).

Brap!

Hold on tight to the spring and white plastic piece. MIne once shot out of my loose grip and I spent the next several hours looking for it in my garage.
