E-start=200

Can anyone please tell me if retro-fit e-start will work on a 2012 200???

Sure it will, and a lot easier than in years prior. All of the 2012+ subframes are set up for e-start/battery installation.

You'll need the starter motor and gears, the pv cover with the starter motor mount, the ignition cover, the driven gear, a starter button, the harness, battery leads, relays, and a battery of course. If I missed something somebody help out.

And what is the cost of this retro-fit? ;)

If your bike happened to come with a 2K-2 ignition, like my 250, you will need the 2K-3. Seems like GG may have run out of the "3s" for later '12 production. IMO its too heavy for a 200 anyway.

E start kits new in the box are priced as follows:

Nine bills if you're starting from a 2011 or older; $750 for a '12 or '13 (unless you can find a friend who no longer needs/wants his, and then its down to your negotiating skills).

Any friends on here I can barter an E-start from?? J/K

$750.00 is not bad for an upgrade like that!

Interesting info.. I have an 01 300 ec gasgas would you know what's needed for that? The same I'm guessing for around $900 to 1k to retrofit the starter.. and I don't really know but are the starters reliable or on the same level as the ktms? It would suck to throw down $900 and it be a problem design like the pumpkins.. I know there's a slavens mod to put wet oil lubrication for the ktms but not sure how great that is.. if it's a true fix or slowing the eventual gear strip.. Thanks anyway. It would be a worthwhile upgrade to me. The older gasgas are great bikes . The electric starter for me would be excellent. I'm not a rekluse guy.. I don't want any chance at all of freewheeling anywhere for our technical trails...
