EC 300 2018 Starter motor

They appear to be the same, I was told they were but have not been able to confirm myself. You could always be the test dummy! :p
You will have to confirm rotation direction, spline size and length and if the mounting tab is in the correct location.

I?ve used them before, they work well for the money.
At 240 hrs I opted to re-brush my own starter on the GP with crf450x brushes filed down to the correct dimensions and soldered on to the existing braid.
I?ve done this to multiple katos and a few gassers in the past.
Make sure to run a mark from end to end including the center barrel and reinstall with the marks lining up with one another so that the starters timing is in the factories optimum position.
$18 fix!
Get on it.

If you are in the USA, Slavens Racing sells brush kits for the KTM starters and there are videos on how to strip the starter and refurbish it. You should be able to identify if your starter is the same from these.

You could always take your starter to your local KTM dealer and do a like for like comparison.

Thanks guys, i think i will give it a try, for the price its not bad.

I will give an update when i have more information.

I put a brush set in my OEM starter (18 EC300), but it turns out the windings were completely cooked. Local GG dealer quoted me $420 for a replacement starter along with some ridiculous wait time. Ended up ordering this one linked below which fitted fine but rotated the wrong way - easy fixed by reversing the motor housing.
