Hi I just got my first gas gas ec200 and love it rode it about 5 or 6 times with no problems then all of a sudden today I went running just fine and quit like a fouled plug so we changed it on the trail fired up ran fine for about 100 yards and died again if I let it set it will start up and run for about 5min and quit if I give it gas it will run for about 3min fuel filter is clean and I'm getting fuel to the carb and getting good fire I'm stumped as I just pushed it about a mile any suggestions thanks

Blocked vent tube?? pinched tube ?? pull the carb. inspect and clean. Are you using Fresh fuel?

Yeah that sounds familiar, check all the carb vent hoses make sure there not pinched at the holders and reset float level.
Double check the fuel cap vent is ok.
If you have the cable operated choke ,change it out for the knob.

Out of curiosity, are you using standard pump fuel that has the friggin' crap ethanol in it? Without going off on a tangent of how much I hate that stuff (and the stoopid govt idiots that mandated it), it's known to cause separation issues.

In all of our bikes (dirt and street), and really any type of small engine tool, I run ethanol-free fuel. Here's a great site if you haven't seen it - shows where all the ethanol-free gas stations are in the US and Canada:

OK guys looks like more problems it will run for about 5 min then quit like its out of fuel but it stops getting spark then I let it set and it gets spark again and runs for a few minutes what do u think stator cdi coil ecu to many options

I once purchase a new KDX200 and had problems with it just randomly shutting down, acted like it ran out of gas. I took it back to the dealer and they could not find any problems. I struggle with the symptom while joy riding and while racing enduro's. Was very frustrating. Just had to sit a while, kick a crap load and it would finally start and off I would go until it quit again some undetermined mileage down the trail. A new plug would also get it going but again would die just down the trail. As you say yours will spark sometimes then sometimes not. Thats exactly what my KDX was appearing to be doing. I removed the spark plug like I did a hundred times before to find no arc/spark. Then I turned the plug up to look down into the underside and found it was arcing, not at the tip but instead all the way up in the plug between the side (metal) and the inner ceramic. For some reason the bike doesn't like to run with it arcing up there. New or old plug it would do the same thing. Maybe it was the oil I was burning or maybe it was a weak magneto. Never found out. But I did learn how to live with it. I learned the symptom to watch for when the plug started to misfire and I would then get into the pipe and really rag it for a few hundred feet till it cleared out and would run fine again. Kinda annoying is some of those really gnarly tight sections having to be in the pipe but it worked. Ran it like that for years.

Don't know if your issue is the same but its something else to look at.

Cheers

btw: my plugs were burning clean. they were not fouled. never had it happen on any other bike I've had, even another KDX I had owned.
