Hi,

why the travle stroke of the pedal is so long?
The position of the pedal is ok, but i cannot apply full presure on the brake when I am standing , and i must to set back in order to bring the pedal to lower position.

How to reduce to stroke travel of the brake pedal?

with the KTM a small push lock the rear brake.

Tx,

There are a few things you can check which will help determine where the problem lies.

Firstly there should be a little free travel in the pedal until it contacts the bolt. The bolt will also then have some slight travel until it starts to push the piston into the master cylinder. At this point the resistance should be felt and it should firm right up quickly.

The first 2 bits of travel are only a few mm. Just enough so that the brake pedal has some play before it contacts the MC. This is normal. Have a look and check if the brakes are firming up as soon as the master cylinder comes into action. If it takes alot to bring it up to pressure or firms up quicker after a few pumps you might have to bleed the brake lines and then take it from there.

the first free travel till contact the master is ok.

the problem start from this point till the end of the stroke which take long distance

Ok so it sounds like its something to do with the master cylinder.

Try pumping the pedal to see if it builds pressure and gets firmer quicker. How are the brake pads looking? Have you serviced the fluid in them? Tried bleeding them? Give it a go and post back. Cheers
