Flapper valve

Hi everyone, just joined. I have a 2010 ec 250 which is a fine bike. I would like to know if there should be movement in the flapper valve when felt through the exhaust port

They have a fair amount of tolerance in there to allow for carbon buildup. Not unusual to be able to rattle it around a bit with the finger. I wouldn't try to move it through its range of motion manually though.

Thanks for info, wasnt sure if there was a little bit too much freeplay in there. The valve had stuck but I managed to free it off and it rode much better with stronger midrange and not misfiring, rode the bike and it felt better, but having seen a thread about moving the arm with the engine not moving, as I did to free it off. I was a little worried afterwards, but it rode fine (only saw the thread when I got home) so guess the actuator has kept its ball bearings, only have owners manual but there could have been a warning in there.
So thought there was maybe too much play in the valve as well, but appears all is well.
