I have a 2000 ec 200 my front forks have the blue adjusters on top no adjusters on the bottom, just had seals and oil replaced but one has much more spring in it than the other, heard something about one doing rebound one doing compression is this right what is the easiest way to set these up:confused:

Jonny,
I have the same forks on my 97 and 98's. The way it works is one of your forks controls preload only while the other is compression only. This can be really easy to adjust or very hard if you do not know which fork is which. Just play around with one of the adjusters by going all the way in and then out. With-in a couple pushes of the forks you will tell whether it is your rebound or compression fork. It's actually a great fork but contaminates very easily so you need to change the fork oil a lot (i ride every weekend and change about every month and 1/2 to 2 months. Also depending on what kind of fork oil wgt you are using the forks will either be plush or very harsh. I have found that a good 7 wgt seems to run nice in them but have even heard of some using 10. I would not suggest going lighter than 7 though because your forks will be unbelievably harsh.

Many thanks i have used a 7.5wt oil, they just felt strange one felt very stiff the other loose!!Need to set the bike up it has been sat in a barn for 2 years finished doing the engine just need to fit a kill switch and get some plastics will the later radiator shrouds fit?

Actually on the 2000 model and up the newer shrouds work fine. I just bought a pair for my 98 which didn't work because of the tank and gave them to a buddy who has a 00' 250. Good luck with your setup.

Thanks have ridden 4 strokes for years this is my first stroker had a go on a ktm200 little to skittish for me, am a woods rider so wanted something light the shrouds on there at the moment have the rounded holes i prefer the square holed type!mine have 2 mounting holes in the fuel tank are these where yours are to?

Your not the first guy to comment on the KTM's schizophrenic behavior. I was talking to one of our better:eek: six days riders and he told me that the 200 he had was nervous and unpredictable. You will love the gasser, has the most neutral chassis out there. Ive actually had mine into controlled high speed two wheel drifts!

Had the bike running today needs a bit of tuning anyone give me stock settings for the carb, one problem though can only get first and second gear had all gears when apart with mole grips the gearlever has no springiness in it so guess i have put something in wrong!

If you ever strip those forks, make sure that none of the parts get confused between the two forks. I did that mistake on the GG 65............you don't want to go there

Hi sorry I'm new here hope I'm ok posting this here I've just wondering if the 2002 ec250 forks with fit on my 2009 ec250 thanks in advance shaunebob
