Front wheel fitting with new fork

Hi guys!

Bought a USD front suspension of WP 43mm from a gasgas ec250 of 2002. I want to fit him on my 1998 gasgas ec250. So my question is how can I fit my front wheel in the front forks? Got bearing for a newer model but witch spacers do I need between the bearings in the wheel and witch spacers between the wheel and the forks?

You will need to get the axle, bearings, seals and spacers for the 2002 bike.

I have both a 1998 EC250 and a 2002 EC300. Far left and center.


The front wheels are not interchangeable. The axle diameter is different. As
is the inner diameter of the wheel bearings. It might be possible to change
the bearings to work. You would have to research a new bearing with the
outside diameter the same as the 98 wheel hub, but, with the larger inner
diameter to fit the 02 axle. The inner bearing spacer inside the hub may
also need to be changed.
I think it would be easier to source the correct 02 wheel and spacers to
go with your WP forks. I assume you also had to change the triple clamps.

My 99 front wheel was used, replaced the bearings, seals, wheel spacer, front brake caliper, master cylinder and hardware. You will need the proper axel and nut.

I bought a complete 2002 or 2003 front end off a EC300, bolted right up, 3xx clamps will be needed and hardware.

- Nissa Front Brake Caliper w/ hose and master cylinder (not sure if the Brembo stuff will work)

I think I have the hub bearing spacer? I can't check til Friday. I'm on shift today and tomorrow and then go in for surgery Thursday. I may have the axle to?
