Frustrated

I'm a little frustrated with GG riders forum ...I've posted a few threads and received some answers which were a great help from the people who replied back (you know who you are)

Without alienating myself on the site,or trying to upset people which is not my plan, it does seem that this site is quite cliquey.

I ve recently put 2 different posts up for 2 seperate threads and not even got one reply to either, yet some one else puts nearly the exact same thing up and gets replies ?????

Am I talking chinese ?? Is it cos Im english what is it?
I posted up weeks ago :

The plastics on my EC250 'six days' are shabby and dated I would like to replace them all and try and update the bike a bit
does anyone know if newer model ones will fit ??

I didn't even get one reply, yet a few weeks later someone else posts :

Plastics needed for OLD !!! 1998 EC250. What fits it?
I'm looking to change all the plastics on my 1998 EC250 vintage bike, LOL !!!

I wouldn't mind using newer era parts if possible to spruce it up a bit while I'm at it, as long as it wouldn't require a ton of fabrication time.
I would greatly appreciate any input.

And gets a few solid replies.

AGAIN .... I posted up a thread 'Radiators' @ 12.45pm sunday

Hey does anyone know whether EC400 rads will fit a EC250 as mine are all bent out of shape and there's some going cheap?
They look the same but I cant be too sure any help
thanks

Not one reply...yet about 2 hours later somone posts a thread 'Radiators' @ 02.07 pm albeit not asking about ec400 rads but all the same asking about radiators for an ec250.

Again a couple of replies...so you can see why im thinkin this.
So when a fellow gasser asks for a bit of advise then please let it be across the board.

hey my friend, take it easy.

about your questions:

1. A friend of mine is riding a 1999 EC30 and he has mounted on the 2010 SixDays plastic. To fit the new platics you have to modify a bit on your bike. The front fender and the shrouds should fit without problems. The rear fender incl. numberplates will fit after doing some modifications on your rear frame, because of the different fixation. maybe you have to replace the seat as well or modify it too. Just for information, he also put a e-start on his '99er works well but needs some modifications too.

2. if the radiators will fit, I don't know. Check out the part list you can download on gasgasmotos.es. In general the size will be the same, but I don'T know about the connections.

stay cool, sometimes it take a while, especially when everybody is exited because of the new 2012 bikes.

Dont worry amigo I'm as cool as a cucumber, I wasn't trying to provoke or p1$$ anyone off, I was just stating a fact.
I only can hope the replies I get are warm and friendly as I wasn't trying to make enemies.

Anyway thats a good starting point about the rads so i will have a look on GG es website and see if they are the same or similar,in regards to the plastics thats what I want to do with my bike just freshen it up a bit different colours like the new models not go for the std red but maybe white.
It's the 1st thing you notice when you look at a bike.

You can also try bumping your post( re entering a question below the original to get the original back in view. Sometimes it will take a while , other times you will be jumped on , as you have already witnessed. Unfortunately your posts were not the ones jumped upon this time.
You will get to know most people on here in time and wil know who to ask for what after a while. This site is a very valuable site for us gasser riders.
Cheers Mark

sausage,

I assure you this site is anything but clicky. I saw your post. I talk too much anyway so I like to give others a chance to answer first. Fact is I/we just don't know off hand. There are probably only a few guys here that have had both '98s and newer bikes that have verified this. No info is better than BS, right? Stick around, this is a great bunch of people who will always help if possible.

The ec 400 rads are almost the same and will bolt up just fine, but all the hose fittings are pointing in different directions than the 2 stroke rads so plumbing may be a problem.

Thanks for the replies all of you.. Worldwide

Ok then thats good to know, and I appreciate your honesty,as for no B/S you are right.
I know my bikes a bit old skool but it still has the glorious sound and smell of a 2 stroke,I will stick around and I will always try help others if I can

They looked the same and not bashed about,I might buy them anyway and see if I can have the hose fittings re welded.

I would help if I could but my 2010 GG 300 is my first so I'm still a newby myself. When I have a question I usually ask the guys at GoFasters or Mr Bean on here. Good luck and if there is a click on this site it would be news to me. I just think it's less people who know the older bikes and no one wants to steer a fellow member wrong. Good luck.

that is my thoughts... i also saw your posts, but i have never even seen one of those old bikes...would hate for you to get something on my advise and it be wrong... i do that to my self all the time..

there is one of those 400's here in town and i swear the majority of the parts look just like my 01 300... but from everything i read they are not..

this is the best site for gg's .. great guys, great info.. even bought my bike on here..

Sausage mate, your questions have been answerd in above posts.
Rads will fit but need plumbing mods.
Late model plastics will fit but rear subframe needs changing+seat+airbox.
How far are you willing to go?How much(alot)of spare moola have you got?
We don't know.
Cheers

+1 You want to bump to keep it listed in the "New Posts" as I know alot of the time I don't look through each section. You'll also get alot more views than you will replys, both from people looking for the same answers, or others who are trying to help but just don't know the answer.

I have felt the same thing at times both here and on other forums that you throw your question out and no one is listening. Its never a personal attack on you, and you shouldn't take it that way.

Another thing I do like is that if someone starts a thread asking questions that it comes to an end. Ie. Poster posts what he has done to fix it. This way the site and threads hold mch more value to those searching for answers.

Is it cos Im english what is it?

Yes!!!! just kidding!

I did notice your post was in the "UK" part of the forum. If it where posted under the "Chassis" section i'm sure you would have recieved more responses.

Me personally do not look much at the other countries or other parts of the U.S. forum to much....
