FSE 450 W/ 14t Front sprocket???

In looking at most of the posts on this site I have seen the question asked a number of times regarding the use of a 14 front on the FSE. It also seems like the question has not been answered. Or at least I couldn't find the answer.
It doesn't seem like there is room without some grinding.. There wasn't room on my DRZ for a 16 front but there was enough info on the ThumperTalk site showing how to do it. (Grind the case saver and cut the swing arm rubber) So is there a technique for fitting a 14 front?

Also, some mnfg list the Yamaha yz125 front to be compatible with the GG, The JT catalog says no. So is there something that is avail to fit the GG?

Thanks, tony

Thanks Jeff.

Unless Someone informs me that they tried it and could not get it to work, Ill just order one myself. I'm running a 41 on the rear of my FSE now and I'm looking to get a 36 or 37 made up for the rear. Unless someone says it won't work I'll order a 14 as well.

I just had the feeling that surely someone must have tried to fit one by now.

The confision with the YZ125 is simple. The Gas Gas 125 engine uniquely uses a YZ125 sprocket. All the EC/MC/FSE models 200cc and up use the same front sprockets.

I have not tried a 14 tooth sprocket on my FSE450. If it did fit, it certainly would be tight.

About my question re. the 14t front GG. I have not purchased one yet but will get one of these after the first of the year. Just thought I would post the below listed excerpt from the EBay listing of the Ironman 14. Talon also lists a 14 in there online catalog but I have not been able to find anyone carrying the Talon 14.

My solution to the problem for my SM setup was to fit a DRZ 400 SM wheel to the rear of my GG (see my post on how I did it). The size of the DRZ hub allows for a 36t rear and that seems to be enough for me. After reading the below caution, I'm still not sure I would want to go to a 14.
