Gallardo 500

Anyone here doing it? 500 minutes of racing, up to 4 riders per team (or an Iron Man option).

I will be riding with my nephew, looking to see if anyone else wants to join Team Bottleneck. Looking for one rider, any skill level, but don't expect to win. Probably run Open B because Open C will be jam-packed, but our skill level is C+. Not looking for glory, just someone who wants a support group, and a cooler full of beverages for the "recovery" period after 8 hours and 20 minutes of racing.

Let me know if you are interested in riding, or if you want to come and watch a couple of Novice riders get our ass handed to us then then drink beers and laugh at us. Two tiers of fun!

Well, make that a 4 man team! I have not been on the bike for a month, been laying out and building trail. So I'm certainly not in race pace shape. But we'll see how fast we can get back to it.;)

I just got another on mine, too, so we are all booked up. Might break it in to two two-man teams for more ride time. Or not.

See you there, bright and early.

Here is half of my 2nd lap of the Gallardo 500 team race. It features me caseing a double and meeting a tree up close and personal.

Really our race went better than this helmet camera footage shows, for some reason I was off to start the day, maybe it was that I hadn't been on the bike for well over a month or raced since April.....

Looks like you made some new acquaintances, the face of a jump and the side of a tree! Regarding the downhill before the tree jumped out at you, I remember thinking "I sure am going down a lot in elevation, I don't remember climbing this much." Then I found that uphill section at the end of your video. That is where they put the elevation change, that one section.

Great course, wish that I could have done more than 3/4 lap at "speed," and the rest at "survive." Doctor said "no displaced fractures evident in xray," but I think she wasn't looking hard enough. Still can't cough or sneeze without bursting into tears.

Looks like fun. I bailed, before the last tree(s) I hit. As it turned out...smartest thing I did on that particular day. Great vid.
