Gas Gas at the alligator enduro

A new meaning for Gas Gas for me. Another race with me on the side of the trail yelling GAS, GAS, GAS, GAS to about 100 riders till someone stopped to give me gas:eek:. The frustrating part is after the race I look at my times and I was 2nd in the b 50 class (yeah im an old guy) and the guy who was in first was clearly a cherry picker. ( he dropped a one in the first section, so did Lafferty)
Anyway that was my rant to that guy. First I still need to say this is still by far the best bike I have ever ridden. I can't believe how it handles. This is the first bike in years that I havent sent the suspension out on, and my last bike had the ttx stuff. Also I dont think this is a Gg problem, I think it's my problem. I adjusted the float bowl level this week and my gas cap was not leaking for this race. So I guess I will be looking at my jetting this week. I have a go fasters recommended cck needle with a 175 main and I'm not sure of my pilot.

Also in the second section my left foot peg pin broke. The top of the pin sheered off. I haven't looked at it yet but I think it was just from my weight not a hard hit, and I only weigh 175. Luckily for me it stayed on till the check out and then it was two zip ties and a roll of medical tap that kept it on for the rest of the race. I also had a squealing noise coming from the motor. Don't know if it is just something loose or something major, but I will look at it when I get home.

Anyway with all that I still ended up not only finishing but in 10th place. I am very happy with that. I will be making a lot of phone calls this week to try to get the fuel thing figured out. I have recommended and sold three of these bike so far and will continue to spread the word.

I have to believe it is the float height and jetting. I got lousy mileage when I first bought my bike and going to the LTR kit and fixing the float height fixed it (must have been leaking gas through overflow when riding). I can easily do a 50 mile loop with plenty to spare.

Seems to be quite a few people reporting problems with the footpegs in the last few months?
Have gasgas changed their supplier? or is everyone just going faster now on the newer bikes and catching themselves out?

Well done on finishing, although i think i would be tempted to put a larger tank on for piece of mind!:D

When I looked at the new bikes for the first time the pegs looked on the flimsy side to me. You guys think it's the pegs or the hardware? Some 2008 Husky's (and maybe other years) had similar issues and it was the low strength hardware.

Congrats on the moto finish.

I replaced my footpegs with the Yamaha yz450 Titanium pegs. Ebay for $35. The stock ones look like they are cast out of pot metal or zinc.

The Yamaha pegs sit at the same height although they are 1/4" closer to the brake and shifter levers.

I wear a size 10 boot and really didn't notice a difference.
