Hi, Does anyone onhere have a 200 Hobby? I'm looking for a bike for trail riding and racing in easy hare and Hounds events. Will the Hobby fit the bill? I think the full on racer will be too much for me and have heard the Hobby will be better on the road between the trails.

From what I understand the 200 Hobby is basically the same bike as the EC 200 but doesn't have the adjustable suspension or O-ring chain so the motor is going to have the same power delivery as the EC.

The bike also has different brakes and wheels.
I think it's goofy that they named it the HOBBY. I think they should of played off the KXD market and called it a DX 200. For that matter I don't see why they couldn't have a DX 125, DX 250, and a DX 300.
I'm interested to see how the brakes work on them. I wear rear calipers and cariers out on the ones with Nissins.

If the brakes/wheels are like whats of the Pampera, they will not hold up to anything but the most casual riding, like my wife does. Just get the EC200, they are easy bikes to ride, not like an MX bike.

I would get one just to get a fresh starting point. I have extra wheels and could pull the compression adjusters out of my current forks for over $1000 dollars in savings. Seams worth it to me, but I don't want a 200 at all.

adrian pm me I can get you the hobby or the regular ec 200 I will have a regular ec 200 in about a month the msrp on the hobby is "tbd" and the ec200 is 7,195 with ohlins and 6,795 with sach rear shock. My prices will be significantly off msrp if you want to buy outright no trades.

 I'd suggest you adjust your pedal so the brake isn't on all the time ;) Seriously though, the Nissans are about the best brakes on the market and used by a very wide number of manufacturers. If your having trouble with them, it will only be worse with any other manufacturer.

I think I'm just hard on the brakes. I am real touchy on the adjustment if its a little high or low it drives me nuts. I wear the rear cariers wear the caliper pins float.

Triple threat I'm sponsored through my local shop and got a pretty good hook up. I do appreciate the offer. Where are you located in MO? I race 1 or 2 Missouri races a year. I can't seem to to keep air in my tires. I'm working on getting tire balls just for the MO. races
