Gas Gas Gathering Oregon

Mike, you are the King of Shotgun, so I'm in for that, or wherever else!

I'll bet that Russ (firfighter) and Erik K. might be talked into a ride as well.

I'm ready to get out and ride!

Jeff

Yep. I'm in. I've never ridden Shotgun and would like to try it as I know it is one of the only places to ride during winter.

If we wait until April or May, I can put us on a 40-50 mile loop at McCubbins and never hit a road, but you have to like tight and twisty.

Or, I know a 60 mile run over at EFR that we call Disneyland. Very few whoops and nothing but ripping in 3rd gear between pine trees.

I'm open though and just want to ride!

Haven't heard Rosco pipe up yet with the Tahuya Meet-n-greet. I want to go for sure this year and maybe some of us from down South could car pool.

Can do Shotgun anytime. Going tomorrow (March 4th) if anyone wants to join.

McCubbins sounds excellent! I like EFR too! I think that Western Oregon showcases more of what the Gas Gas is all about though! Willing to look at gathering at Willamina or Diamond mill/Jones Creek/Browns camp area as well.

Certainly for winter riding, Shotgun is the safest bet to be open and without snow, or, at least too much snow.

Sounds like 2 trips are in order.

Shotgun soon and McCubbins when the snow clears.

McCubbins is a lot of fun and I have that place down like the back of my hand now. It has taken many years to learn the area because the map is basically worthless and the trails are very poorly marked. I would love to lead a group for McCubbins and have done a couple for guys at work.

I have rode a couple times at Diamond Mill and loved it. Its one of those places that you need a local guide to really get the most out of it. Needless to say If a gathering was held there I would be game to come down. Whats the shotgun creek area like?

Shotgun is much like diamond mill in that it has a lot of elevation change. It's clay based soil for the most part. A nice place to ride if you like a technical challenge. We used to say that if you can ride shotgun, you can ride anywhere.

Hey Mike. I'd be game for a Oregon ride. Any of those locations as long as it's gnar fun :) Locked up for the Dez 100, so the weekend of April 1st is out for me.

Shotgun was alot of fun last time I came down with Chuck

And yes I will be planning a Gas Gas ride @ Tahuya. Been really busy and off the bike for 3 consecutive weekends , just not like me. Been mostly busy working on something really cool for our club. But of course domestic things get in the way also.

I am planning on beating myself up this weekend to get back into the swing. I think 70 miles minimum in the Tahuya is due.;)

When is this gathering of GasGas taking place? A road trip may be inorder....if I am welcome to attend:rolleyes:

I have all sorts of "work stuff" lined up through the last week of Apri......If I knew when you planingthe ride I'd try to "block" some time. I had a killer at Shotgun last time that I would like to ride that place again!

Let's do it. I am open to any suggestions. Do we want another "Le Tour De Shotgun?" I can do that again. Or we can do China Hat and make it a family gathering since anyone can ride there?

We would have to wait for rain on the West side. May be a good idea on the East side too.

Give me some open dates folks.

Shotgun currently closed for fire danger. I wish I knew of a reliable source for closures, I only know because of local signage. Did ride at Big lake and Millican Plateau last weekend. Back to the East side this weekend. Saturday, Millican Plateau (four corners). October 6 2012.
