Gas Gas Giveaway Winner

@ MattR- LMAO : The god of Trees :D

Hey, when I rode my one and only KTM, I met the god of trees and he put a whoopin' on me....fractured my sternum. Since I have had GGs, he has left me alone.

The kid is from Tuscaloosa for cryin' out loud, he's an Alabama fan....they know football and thats about it....WAR damn EAGLE!!!!;):p

I'm sure the purpose of the giveaway was to get another GasGas into the hands of a racer for as much publicity and general P.R. as possible. From that aspect Clay did have a modest amount of sucess. I agree w/everyone that giving it to someone who truly appreciates the bike would have been worlds better. I did notice that there was an e-mail address on the Georgia off road web site ad. It would be a real shame if he were flooded with e-mails, people asking him lots of questions, wanting to see the bike and then not showing up, not that I would ever encourage such an activity!!!! I really wish it could have gone to someone who would at least use it. Jim

Yeah, that is TOTALLY lame for him to sell it.

I submitted probably a thousand or more entries trying to win that giveaway. I have a very old/aging 99 EC300 and just don't have the money to get a new one. I was so so hoping to win...along with lots of others, I'm sure. And I know if I had been blessed enough to win I would have painted the trails Gas Gas red and spread the word about how great these bikes and Clay's service is.

Leaves an empty feeling the winner didn't truly appreciate how lucky he was and what a great bike a 13 EC300 is.

I don't know guys? I'm with ya that it would've been cool if the winner would have really wanted it, and rode the crap out of it or at least tried it. On the other hand, I don't really blame the guy for selling it if he needed the cash. He probably figured he could get more out of a brand new bike than his used KTM. Times are tough.

Just my opinion.

Hero to zero is correct! Well, the federal government will want its taste. Mr. Zero, say hello to that $8499.00 IRS Form 1099 coming to a mailbox near you on Feb 15th, 2013..........LOL

It's really not a big deal. It will be in the hands of someone that wants it and the visual PR is still successful. I just hope it is not someone I have to race against! :D

To be really frank.....we did the give away so we capture all of the email address and flood you all with updates on Gas Gas and Sherco. Since I am now, salesman, floor sweeper, check writer, invoicer of dealers and GE....it may be a while before I get all of those email loaded so that I can tell you all what I had for breakfast each day. (Just kidding about the breakfast thing.)
From that standpoint, the give away was a huge success because we will be able to contact approximately 2000 enthusiasts when we have news.
Speaking of news....Jeff Melik won the East Coast Enduro Association championship yesterday. With Ben Hobbs winning the SORCs series and Stephen Edmonson winning the VCHSS series, that gives us three overall regional wins.

Also, Hadyn Franklin won the TSCEC Championship this weekend. He did all the races on a Gas Gas, but finished the last race on a KTM, so Ktm gets the credit.

I got serious too late, missed four early races, but locked up third in the BSSR class in ECEA harescambles. Second would have been easy, and first a possibility. Last race is Sunday but it doesn't really matter as far as points. Anyway I was the only GG in the class and made a few take notice.

Since we're talking about championships, I might as well mention that I won the highly coveted 2012 District 17 Senior B Enduro Championship on my 2011 250XC Race. Woo Hoo! I believe I finished 4th in the Overall B's for the year. I guess it's time to start running with the big dogs.

Haydn went to work for a KTM dealer and that dealer wanted him on a KTM, which I totally understand.
