GasGas at GNCC Ironman

What a weekend! We trailered our bikes up from Austin, Texas to Crawfordsville, Indiana to race our first GNCC event.

What an epic event - the terrain is truly unbelievable!

I pulled the holeshot in the 45+C class today and ended up 5th overall out of 28 in my class.

GNCC is some fast racing - much more so than my local hare scrambles in Texas. Mud, crazy hill climbs, stream crossings, ruts, roots galore, and a lap that includes Ironman Raceway, the outdoor national track. I highly recommend this event to anyone thinking about it.

My gopro was covered in mud quickly and the video is unusable, but my friends got some pics which I will upload on this thread at some point.

Thank you to Richard at HoH and GoFasters!

I would be remiss to not mention Richard Wilson and Mark at GoFasters.
We stopped and rode at St. Joe's State Park in Missouri and I busted my front brake caliper bracket. These guys teamed up and overnighted the part to my hotel in Crawfordsville! Huge thanks for the personalized service.

Great job! I was at ironman too. Rode Super Vet C and finished 3rd of 25 and 207 of 700 something overall. Funny thing is I am from Indiana and will be traveling to Austin TX this week for work. Lol

Did you hear about the bikes that got stolen? They were friends of mine. One was a brand new 2016 450xcf with 1 hour on it

Congrats

Congrats Slade, and something else worth mentioning I discovered this morning when looking up results....The folks at GNCC signup and scoring have finally figured out how to install "GAS" into their system, (bike ridden) instead of using "OTH" (other).

Now I look to the sky, to see if pigs do really fly :)

Wow - a podium finish at the GNCC - that is outstanding!

There were some fast dudes there; I was close to 4th place, but 1st-3rd were waaaaay out there.

Congrats on your finish. I would have gotten killed in B class, but I sure would like to climb Ironman Hill.

I did hear about the bikes being stolen. That is so toilet I don't even know what to say. Hopefully they recover them and put the asshat thieves away for a long time.

Rod - my local series hasn't figured it out yet - still says "OTH". How friggin' hard is it to change that?!

Thanks Girard - Jason was there as well and placed 11th - he also had a good race.

We rode at Scipio, OK (Indian Nations), Wyandotte (site of The Offroad Cup) and St. Joe's State Park, Missouri on the way up to Indiana. Epic trip!
