GasGas at the Texas Offroad Championship Series

Hey Rod and everyone,

I rode my '14 XC300R to a 3rd place finish in 450C and Master's 40+C at last weekends TORCS Hare Scrambles event outside of Austin, Texas.

I got the holeshot on Sunday!

The bike is performing really well. The suspension still needs a bit of work but I'm not too far off. I'm waiting on a PFP adjuster tool from my dealer and hoping that will be the final adjustment. Perhaps a slight raise in the oil level.

Conditions were very hot (95-98 degrees F) and very dusty/dry.

The biggest improvement I made prior to this race was moving from a 48 to a 50 tooth rear sprocket.

Loving my GasGas!

AWESOME news! Good job on that finish!!! Get me some pictures please :) Curious though...your events are tight enough to justify the 50t rear, or you just wanted the power of the 300 to come on quicker for less clutch work?

re: GasGas at TORCS

Rod - yes the trails we race on here are typically fairly tight. There are a few straights in the woods, and there are always a few grass/flat track open sections, but the majority of the time it's 2nd/3rd gear in the woods. The sprocket change made a big difference (for my riding style anyway).

Gerard - Jason placed 2nd on Saturday and Sunday in his D class races. I'll give the guy a lot of credit - he has put the work in in the saddle and it has paid off.

I'll get some pics posted up here ASAP.

Congratulations mate. Mind if I ask what jetting you're running?

I'm a bit embarrassed to say I don't actually know. I had a JD Jetting kit installed by my dealer - it is set for seal level as I'm in Central Texas.

I have a pretty good gurgle at WOT that I'm now starting to try to figure out.

This was at a place called Honey Creek in Weimar, Texas. Just south of I-10.
