gasgas pacific in canada- is it just me?

Just throwing the question out there-has anyone besides me had an extremely tough time getting any kind of service/ replies / responses through your dealer from gasgas pacific in canada. is anyone actually running gasgas distribution on the west coast of canada? It's small stuff this time around, but back as long as i've been riding gassers since 02, the support from the distributor on the west coast has been piss poor at best. you can call or email him repeatedly along with the dealer doing so at the same time, and it takes days or weeks to maybe get a reply. I do love the bikes, but my patience is running thin.

Ive had great service from Dave. Try Tuff City Motorsports in Nanaimo, they sell Gassers. Dave and Nick are quick to get me my parts. 250 591 0415

thks willy, i'll give them a call and see what happens. I've been trying to get some prices on graphics and rad shrouds for over 2 weeks now, and have talked to my local dealer, 3 or 4 times, and they tell me the distributor does not even return their calls! But there maybe a reason for this as well? I've also contacted ggpacific by email and he did call me direct over 1 week ago, but still no info on availability or prices from anyone. it's a good thing i'm only looking for bling this time around, as i would be furious if it was an engine or suspension part i was after that kept me off my bike, with riding season well under way right now!

gasgas pacific in canada-is it just me

In response to the first thread I have been involved with dave from the very first day he became the Canadian distributor. He has been awesome to deal with and I have had my parts to my door no longer than three days after ordering them.If you need graphics call lime nine in Kelowna.Dave is a stand up guy, enough said.

I'm just making observations here from my own personal experiences. I will stand behind everything that i say and have said in the past. I don't know what the problem is, but there is certainly a problem, in my eyes. Trying to spend my money on my dirtbike should not be anywhere near this hard!
I have no problem at all spending money on my dualsport which is a ktm, because my ktm dealer has or can get me whatever i ask for in a couple of days at the most. if gasgas wants to stay in the game, parts availabilty and support is a very important component in the overall sucess story. There are lots of good enduro bikes out there these day's, gasgas no longer has that market cornered. Someone farther up the chain should be paying attention to what is happening at the consumer/rider level.

NOGG Why would i call an aftermarket graphics company, if i want original GASGAS graphics? Only because the dealer/distributor network can't or wont supply me with availability or prices????

Does that not say alot about the point i'm asking about in my first post?

I never work too hard to give somebody my money ... there's always options.

Kimpex lists GG plastic - you'll have to use Polisport's website to figure out the part numbers you need though - another brillant website from a Canadian company. Man alive!

I've found Motocross Center is the best site for graphics kits (other than personalized numberplate backgrounds). Shipping on a cardboard tube with graphics inside should be relatively cheap.

well things are looking up.I got an email this morning from gasgas pacific, and after a few back and forths, I have a graphics kit ordered with a ETA of approx 3 weeks away. That works for me.The priceing was also very competitive with any of the after market companies, once you factor in shipping and exchange rates.

I'm not sure if the timing was purely coincidental, but from my post last nite to getting prices and availability stat's, and getting graphics ordered up, we got more done in less than 24 hr's than i was able to accomplish in 2 or 3 weeks.

100%

Reid,

GG pacific has been 100% on sales a service for the Western Canadian market!

Dealing with Dave since 2007 and he has always been great to work with. One must remember he is dealing with a supplier in Spain, different language, different time zone ext..... Guess you could aways buy a harley if you want same day service or stop your bitchen and go ride one of the best bikes build:)

James

ggloops, everyone is entitled to their opinion. as i said in my earlier posts, this is not a life changing problem, that i'm up against. But it could also be a learning tidbit for the people that are trying to promote the gasgas name on the world stage. the bikes may be great, but if the support is not there for the parts and service, the shine and luster quickly fades in todays world!

and gg loops if the western canada supplier has been the distributor since 2007 or 8 years ago surely he should have figured out the time difference's between spain and here and language differences etc out a long time ago.
Please let me and the rest of us know how you make out the next time you have a blow up of any kind that stops your riding season in mid stream. I'm pretty sure that waiting days/weeks or months for information let alone parts for your gasgas won't be near as pleasurable as taking cheap and non supported shots at me is. Fire away dude!
As i've said, i'm just stating the facts as they have been handed to me.

Reid,

Just saying it take a minumum of 4-6 weeks to ship parts and or bikes from Spain to Canada , thats assumning Canadian customs doesn't flag the shipment, if that happens then add at least a week for custom's clearence BS. Now unlike your 30 days net payment terms in Can $ you get from Lordco purchasing Chinese crap, Dave has to pre pay for product before it ships, hoping like hell the Canadian dollar doesn't take a bath against the Euro in the mean time, then again hoping the cheap bastards that shop online pay for the stuff he has ordered for them when it arrives ..... or it sits on his shelf and collects dust at his loss.

Or you can Pay an astronomical amount to AIR ship it here! Still at least a week.....

Just thought as a fellow business owner you would understand the bs we Canadian importers deal with on a daily basis.

Now quit your bitchin and come out and ride with me so I can kick your ass on the trails. LOL

James!

james from noble lake trails ?? I shoulda known! go back and read my original post,i stated that i had been trying to find out prices and availability , not how fast i could actually get the stuff. I;m toying with the idea of selling my 11 ec 300 and possibly buying a newer model bike. so i wanted to make a decision based on what i could get from gasgas verses what the aftermarket has available.Part of that equation was pricing as well. The local dealer could not even give me prices on decal kits, much less tell me if any were available. I've never enjoyed being held hostage by anyone over anything!

by the way, 3 of us did a 30 km loop after work today. Bring on spring!

willy559, so where does tuff city get there parts and pieces, and bikes then?
Do they have a good stock of parts and pieces on hand? Are they bypassing the western canadian distributor and dealing with someone else? You've got me curious now,so sure i'll call them and see what they can get me.

Holy man!! Cactusreid !tampons are sold in the ladies aisle...Save your rants and raves for craigslist . This is a respectable forum for those who respect and support the ever growing gasgas brand . Iv had nothing but amazing service from dave and my local dealer. .. I wouldnt get back to you with that kinda attitude either. PISS POOR..

"just throwing the question out there" that is not a rant in any way.
As i stated, and will again, this is my experience, no one elses. But i do find it ironic, that some of the board members that have been here along time have chosen to PM me with their similar experiences.
