A bit off subject, but why don't we have any big Rallys here? Is it land use issues? Lack of interest? I have heard of some small ones out west, but nothing like Dakar. I suppose one as big as Dakar would be impossible, but it seems like something could be worked out? Or maybe even in Northern Mexico? Maybe even something like a Baja 1000 that was 3 days long, even repeating the same course, perhaps one lap in a direction, 2nd lap opposite direction, 3rd lap same as the first? Or basically something like this, or 2 days in a row, then one night/24 hr event backwards on the same track?
I would love to try a Rally, but they are so darn expensive!
I need to create the Arkansas Rally. Rednecks, beer, flashlights taped to our handlebars. Special tests involve Noodlin' for catfish, coon huntin, chase trucks old Ford and Chevy pickups.
