I would be inclined to race the hobby class at Romaniacs before a tour. That would be awesome. Definite bucket list item there. My wife and I watched some YouTube vids of a guy from Greece racing Romaniacs on a Gasser. He was in the Hobby class. I was thinking maybe in a few years, this makes logistics a no brainier.
 
My son and I went with them last summer before the switch to gasgas. Can't say enough about how great it was ,in fact they sourced out a freeride for Eddie who was 13.
Already planning on going back when finances can afford it

That's simply awesome; definitely something I'm going to add to my wishlist. I wonder how much round trip airfare would be...going to check that after I get done browsing the forum :D

Kaos - completely frickin' cool you did that with your son! I have two boys (2 & 4) and fully plan to drag them someplace like that if they get into bikes like I did - when they get old enough. I think it would be wise to do a scouting trip out the first time though...just to be sure...lol.

So many places to explore :cool:
 
Checked into round trip airfare from my neck of the woods and it'd be roughly $1400 to get to Sibiu.

Hmmm...~$2500 for an adventure like this sounds pretty damn good. And I bet I could find cheaper travel - that was just a quick glance.

Now...which kid to sell to finance LOL
 
I passed this along to 6 of my riding buddies and 3 have already responded they are very interested. Probably a 2015 thing.
 
It looks like a pretty good deal to me, especially considering everything is taken care of.

I have some friends that have done the hobby class at Romaniacs. All of them are expert level riders with lots of varied experience; one of them has iron-manned the Baja 1000, and they said it was the hardest thing they've ever rode......
 
While the Romaniacs race and or tour would be awesome,I would do a tour in a heartbeat. Kids line up as you ride through villages to high 5, everywhere we went farmers and people smile and wave. And the sights are unreal, climbs that never end. Dirt road villages with horse and carts,gypsys, 16th century buildings.,google Sibiu to see some of the city sights .

That sounds really cool, but I have to reconcile my competitive nature. Someone said previously that he had friends that did Romaniacs and they were expert level riders and I'm no expert.

I seem to remember someone that was a spectator at romaniacs that it worked out cheaper for him to fly to a neighboring country and get a rental car there and drive to Sibiu - would def add to the adventure!
