Bike runs great, just idles too high. On steep downhills its actually accelerating on 1st gear.
Any ideas on how to lower the idle a little bit ?

Its an '05 GG 450 FSE.

Thanks.

If it ran OK to start with I would check your cable is not caught up somewhere or slightly frayed at one end and getting snagged internally on the cable cover
. It can get caught in a number of places particularly if you have had the tank off. Check that it is properly seated at both ends.

Not sure you can adjust idle manually. I never did on mine but someone else may correct me.

Thanks for the quick response. I had that problem when I added an inch to the handlebar. I took it off.
I'm looking for a way to adjust the idle. I tried the computer diagnostic tool a while back, it didn't help.

There is an adjustment on the throttle body that is accessed from the back of it.

I'll look into it

I haven't seen a screw back there. While I'm checking the valves I'll take the cover off and look for the screw.
Thanks. I hope it's there.

Found what I think might be the screw. No change when I move it. Might be wrong screw.
Picture available ???

I am no expert, but have you checked for air leaks at all?

Just thought I would suggest it before you go through the trouble of tearing down the bike.

I just thought it could be possible that you have air leak in the intake somewhere, I suspect a similar problem (w slightly different symptoms from you) bt a lot of what I have read sounds kinda like what you are describing.

To test it spray anywhere with short bursts of crab cleaner, starter fluid or something flammable where there could be a leak.

Or I could be totally wrong guys so if I am telling him to do something dumb go head and call me out on it n tell me why!
