Does anyone know if the GG 200, 250 and 300 FWW is correct for the 125 engines? The flywheel nut part number appears to be different. If not does anyone know what other application fits the GG125 engine?
I swapped ignitions between an 02 125 and a 03 200 years ago (one was a 2K2 the other was a 2K3) and don't remember any difference in the nut. Maybe email Checkpoint offroad - they list their flywheel weight as for ALL GasGas 2 strokes and see if they have actually tried it on a 125? It was a lot cheaper than a Steahly brand weight too. If all else fails I probably have a nut for a 250/300 I could mail you to try on the 125 and check the pitch/size.
Checkpoint told me that their FWW will not work on a GG 125.
I will see what Steahly says today. I think their FWW should would because it threads into the outer flywheel puller threads that are common between these bikes. I still need to figure out the nut securement. Need to make sure there is enough room behind the cover too. More research to come.
What year 125 do you have? I was surprised Checkpoint said it didn't work so I looked up the flywheel nut and ignition part #s for a 2002 model 125 and 200 and got the same #s for both....
So then I tried the same thing only for 2005 model 125 and 200. Same ignition part # but the nut is different! I guess the crank changed from the early to later models?
Mine is a 2003 EC125. According to Steahly the weight should fit the flywheel but they are not sure if the ignition cover will need a spacer. I will need to pull it out of the shed this weekend to see. I have a Steahly on one of our 300s so I can swap it over.
