Hancock NY Quarry Run?

I know we talked about a GasGas ride there, but my wife and I discussed a camp and ride there last night

I'll assume the ride is good, but how is the camping area for the rest of my family and what is there for them to do in the area?

I plan to search the web, but some of you guys that have been to the ride may have some great advice.

Thanks.

The camping at the site is limited and in a field next to the river, not much else to do. There are several campgrounds withen a half hour or so that have typical activities, thats what my family did two years ago. Go and enjoy it, its a great ride, wish I could.

Good and bad news. I feel great, bone seems to be healed/healing great, getting stronger every day. Bad news is I picked up an infection. So far just a skin/soft tissue thing but its not clearing up and the doc is worried it may spread to the sugical site of the bone/plate/screws. He may take the plate out ASAP to avoid this, maybe in a few weeks. Sucks.

If I get lucky and it clears up, I'll try to head up there for a couple beers and BS with you guys, I'm only about 2 hrs away. I just bought a new Ducati Hypermotard Sat, pick it up this week, and rt #97 along the river is an awesome ride.

Man that sucks about the infection. I hope it subsides.

Enjoy that Hypermotard when you get back on two wheels.

I'll post if we will be up there or not.

Thanks Ed.

Steve,

I walked into the local Ducati dealer about 10 miles away with cash deposit in hand. Five HMs on the floor, two Standards and three S models. I bought a Standard for a little over $12K OTD, $200 less than Martin's quoted me plus they dropped the freight and prep. Also, they are not a PIA about DIY maintanence voiding warranty, I just have to document work. The S model has Ohlins shock vs. Sachs on the standard (sound familiar), Ti coated Zoke fork with stiffer springs, monoblock Brembos (too strong for street IMO) and slightly lighter wheels. More track than street relative. The salesman is an ECEA guy and also rides the trails up by my house, so we got to BS'n and things worked out. Its immpossible for a dirt bike guy not to love this thing, pics don't do it justice.

As far as my problem I wish it was a simple as drowning it in vodka, I have some stuff I brought back from Russia that will kick your ass!;)

No, just Levaquin, that is supposed to kill what the lab said it was. So far it aint dead. I got a feeling I'm getting cut again, but all in all I'm glad I did it as I'm not healed crooked with a golf ball on my shoulder. Just crappy luck, thats all. I will be extra carefull managing any incisions in the future and advise you guys to do the same.

Maybe the doc will let me keep the plate to go along with the stick I got in PA. I already have a good X-Ray collection.

I just got off a 10 day stint on levaquin,, worked as it was suposed to,, but made me sick as a dog.. drink lots of the yogurt shakes if it hits you hard..
You at work or off??

I've been working all but 2 days after injury and a few days after surgery. The Levaquin doesn't bother me at all, I just take it after breakfast.

Thats good,, made me feel like I had a stomache flu.. But with all the other stuff I'm sure I'm 1/2 there already..
