Head 0-rings

I got my order in from gofasters today and I got a inner head o-ring along with other things, but what was supposed to be the outer o-ring is two smaller o-rings about 3 inches big. obviously not the outer o-ring.

If the outer o-ring on the engine still looks good is it safe to reuse it?

I'm guessing the outer ring is less stressed because its not as close to the explosions and it seems to me like its only job it to hold the coolant back from getting outside.

I'd just let them know. They'll send out another. Regarding re-use you know the right answer is to just replace them for peace of mind.. but in saying that you could make a decision based on some logic. As you say, it will leak externally on the outer o ring so maybe not as bad as an internal leak.. I reused both o rings when I did my head mod, but the old ones only had 4 hours on them. If you've got 50hrs or more, I'd probably just replace them.

If it means you can get riding sooner and it looks good I would reuse it and replace it if and when it fails. It will only take you 30 minutes to replace later if you need to.

I took the head off to look at the old ring, it was sticking to the head and looked pretty squared off and flat so I'll call gofasters and see what they can do
