Hi folks, I was hoping to get some specific information on adjustments to the compression and rebound stacks in my 07 Zokes on my EC300.
I have been reading several posts and came across the one where Pobit recommends the following rebound stack:
From Pobit (Dave):
22 x .1
22 x .1
19 x .1
19 x .1
18 x .1
17 x .1
15 x .1
With 7.5 W oil. Makes a nice difference.
I am not sure that his will fit the needs of my area / abilities so here is some background.
I was going to send my forks off and have them professionally tuned, but that is just to costly for my current situation and needs. I am pretty mechanically savvy. Mostly I was concerned that I would get in there and find out that I needed specialty tools. I have been told that should not be a concern (any tips in taking forks apart and reassembly would be appreciated though, i.e anything that needs locktite?).
That said, I am a fairly fast rider (strong B group) and the terrain I mostly ride on is very technical, rocky, rooty and slick. Right now I have my compression almost all the way soft and rebound almost all the way slowed down. Forks work Ok in slow speed stuff, but get scary when riding fast.
What is a good compression and rebound stack to try as a jumping off point? What shims will I find and be able to reuse when I pull the forks apart? What shims will need to purchase? Oil weight? Oil height (I don't have problems with the forks bottoming out)? Air subtanks a good option?
Thank you in advance for any help,
Matthew
