How to stop the pinging

Getting sick of chasing my tail with this bike. I'm currently running the jd red needle, 3rd clip with 172 main and 42 pilot. I only just moved needle from 2nd clip to 3rd position as I'm trying to stop the pinging on deceleration. It's terrible. I haven't ridden it on the 3rd clip yet but running the bike in the yard it's still pinging. It's a19 gasgas 300 with the head cut. Not sure what the squish is at but it was done by a reputable business who have done my other bikes. I'm running at between sea level and 500 meters. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes I have looked at the jetting thread previously. Tried a few settings based on other riders settings but haven't been able to find that perfect setting yet. I'll keep delving into the info. This bike just seems to be very tricky. It's frustrating the hell out of me.

Are you sure it's pinging and not something else?

Pinging is associated with a noise under acceleration.
Maybe the pipe rattling?

I've found with mine that the decel noise was associated too much slide height at idle. (Idle screw turned too far in). You might need to tweak needle? Pilot? air screw? to get the proper idle with less slide height/idle screw.

Definitely not the pipe rattling. Thanks nknudsen. I'll have a mick around with the pilot. I take it I should go up in pilot size?

Actually lean out. Play around with leaner air screw, needle position, pilot, one or a combination should raise your idle so you can lower the slide/idle screw.

Sorry, is he running a #6 slide, #9 slide? Slides are often overlooked - correct choice of slide on my EC300 made a BIG difference in carburetion.
