Why it's better than stock is that it has a wide filler and the mounts for the plastics use bolts into metal inserts in the tank not wood screws into plastic. The downside to the tank is it requires removal to change carb jetting as you can no longer rotate the carb with the tank in place.

Still nothing for 2008 2t's?

I think Mark at Go Fasters is ready to go postal over this:eek: Apparantly Clarke supposedly was within an inch of making the tank when the donated bike was asked for back so onto the backburner again went the tank. That was early July when I was told that so perhaps some progress has been made since then:confused:

It is just beyond me that GG has never had nice oversize tanks developed for their bikes:rolleyes:

Spoke to Clarke after several attempts to contacting them in weeks past. Per Janet today, Aug 3rd, 2009......It will be a 3 piece tank, and is close to being ready to finalize the mold. New tanks "should" be available 3 weeks from today! After several weeks of employee vacations, race promotions they are back at the shop and ready to get this done...I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll there is a god after all (Mark is that you?):D

3 piece tank, hmmm, interesting. I'm guessing something to do with the shrouds or behind the shrouds:confused:

Nope, thats not me....just trying to make the items that everyone wants happen...sometimes not as fast as we all want.

Now on to bothering Rekluse again...I think they maybe have caller ID now....

What for a Pro model?
Tried a Rekluse and gave up because of the inconsistent GG idle and lack of a usable clutch. Find I need one for those unwanted neutral moments and too high a gear on a climb panics.

any opinions on which is the better tank?

I have had both brands on different bikes over the years. I have always been happier with Clarke. The Clarke fit better, best ergos with decent capacity, and no issues.

does anyone know? I was leaning towards the ims for this very reason but its out of stock and 3-4 weeks out. I'm sure I could find a clarke but if it's got the same cheesy fastener type as the stocker ill wait on the ims...
