Intro and 2003 MC205 conversion to New England woods machine

That hilarious that it was in this thread. I guess I should re-read my old threads when I go to bump them ahahaha.

I got a 10 oz FW weight on order, so hopefully that will be enough to help with the PV cover. My jetting is similar to yours, so that works :-) I might swap the CCK in for the DDK, but it feels pretty frikken good right now.

BTW- Your furniture is really awesome.

Got my new pegs on this weekend, cut the bars down, re-mounted my handguards with new hardware.

Got the flywheel wieght and PV cover. Hoping to put them on tonight along with Radiator Guards. Been a good time for downtime cause it's been raingin non-stop.

Stupid question- which side of the case does the flywheel weight go under???

Gonna take pics tonight so I can get some more details on what I need to do for a rudimentary lighting setup.

The FWW goes on the left side. FYI you should pull the ignition cover after every ride and make sure there is no moisture/water in there. The covers generally let water in.

I still have not forgot about the wiring of the lights. I'll take a look soon and get back to you.

So this doesn't drain the gear oil?

Alright. So last night I went about the following items-

Install radiator braces. Holy crap the radiators were mashed in enough that I am surprised they weren't leaking. I had to gently work them back out so that the braces would fit. They are now on. Yeah for more guards.

Tried to get flywheel on. Guess I need a bigger impact because my little cordless jobby couldn't break it loose. It's currently soaking in a little PB blaster.

Installed my Gofasters PV cover.

Drained coolant. Can't get the water pump cover off  although that's not a huge surprise. Not sure I am that concerned about it at this second.

If I can get hardware I might be able to get my forks back on tonight or tomorrow (damn lawn getting in the way of my bike).

I used a streahly piston stop. It's a plastic thingy that screws into the spark plug hole piston rotates up and hits it and that locks up the motor. some people put the bike in gear and jamb up the back tire. Another trick is to feed rope down into the cyclinder then when you rotate the piston the rope will act like a piston stop .... make sure it is clean rope!! I used the rear tire lock up method once and have since gotten the piston stop. The stop comes in handy when your messing around with the water pump impeller

Welp, without the Flywheel but with the PV cover the bike is even more loftastic. The front end hardly can stay down. I think even with the wieght I will probably still need the G2 throttle to slow the modulation.

Got the Flywheel weight on last night, didn't get a chance to test it out yet thou!!!

Bike def feels much better down low. The power delivery all over is smoothed out, but it's most noticeable when you are chuggin along in real low RPM situations. For now I am gonna ride the bike as is because I need to stop spending money on parts!

Yeah!!! A kickstand is HUGE!!!

Just got back from a "tour" in TN, NC, KY (amazing roads) on the Duc so missed this recent exchange.

An air impact is the easiest way to go for nuts like the flywheel, clutch, etc. The quick "hit" cracks stuff free while just holding flywheel by hand. Of course it requires a compressor, but I can't imagine doing much work on a bike without a compressor anyway. You will need one to operate the other can't do without item anyway. Handy Lift :D

Ahaha. No compressor for me yet. Maybe next year. For now I just mooched off a friend who has one.

Hopefully actually put some miles on this weekend!

Got another 5 hours in yesterday in the nasty and really wet woods of CATRA. Bike feels great. I am holding off on anything else for now (except some fitness).
