kick start mechanism

has anyone got a picture for the kick start mechanism? had to take the clutch case off to get a dent/crack welded now ive put it all back together the kick start has a long travel before it starts to turn the engine over, when i put it together i made sure the little arm was wouching the bracket & located the spring in the hole but im lost on what ive done wrong

any ideas & a picture would be a great help.

THE spring isn't wound tight enough. You'll have to take it apart and reindex the inner portion so it preloads the spring more.

Is the bolt holding on the kick lever a left hand thread bolt?

Seems like it should be or when you kick it it will try to undo?

Having trouble getting it off.
