Latest news Press release

Different frame and subframe by it looks pretty close. The hammy motored one looks like a Italian husky swing arm and rear of the frame mated with a gg main frame. Kinda weird looking.

Its an 11 GG. Same EVERYTHING. There was a few imported to Canada a couple of years ago. The frame is a GG frame but if you look at an 11 there is a plate welded to the frame covering up the 2 tubes. The Fantic doesnt have this cover.

Gotcha, I'm not familiar with the 2011 enough to pick out that detail. I thought the Fantic was a custom frame with the same geometry, the spacing of the tubes (isn't the 2011 GG a B shaped extrusion?) looks farther apart on the fantic but I'll take your word for it..

This is not entirely true.

Yes - this frame was designed by GasGas but never produced for GasGas bikes. Fantic manufactured these frames in Italy using design from GasGas. GasGas decided to introduce new generation of frames and a few more new bits in 2012. Frames were okay and are well refined by today but the experiment with new airbox design failed spectacularly and caused a lot of troubles to both GasGas and importers.

Fantic's frame is a logical step between 2011 B-profile and 2012 box-profile GasGas frames but GasGas never used it by themselves. It seems to have 2012 GG suspension geometry (like 2011 replica models, by the way) but tried to increase the stiffness of the frame in a different way than 2012 GG frames do. Also lower part of the frame is different - Fantic sumpguards do not fit to GasGas. I know - tried it by myself :P

Youll find MOST of those types on super clean late model dolled up garage queens.
MOST cant ride their way out of the C class.
Nuff said

Hey, that isn't fair. As a D- to F+ class rider, I can ride pretty good. I can kick my bike to start just as easy as pushing the green button. I feel entitled to whining... it's my American right! Though I will admit I don't like oiling my chain. It makes it look dirty.

I was looking for a date on that article? The fact the web address say ARCHIVE in it seems to me to be old news?

I thought the same thing, but the article is on the homepage as well which makes me think it is possibly current. "Archive" is a common URL alias for websites using Wordpress or another CMS. Sure would be nice to put a date stamp on "news," though.

Seems to be suggesting they plan to work with GG in the future ?

"It is no secret that we have had challenging times with Gas Gas Enduro due to problems in Spain but once back on track, the two will complement each other in our s table of products. Whilst Gas Gas will concentrate on larger capacity 2 and 4 stroke race bikes, Fantic Enduro machines will cover a product line and price point ideal for green lane enthusiasts and club racers alike ."

Fantic were producing high end small capacity enduro bikes a few years ago. I seem to remember they looked cool and were very expensive. The one with a 200cc 4t Yamaha Minarelli engine looks like it could appeal to a variety of riders. Frame and swingarm look kind of familiar ?

The quote is from a dealer in the UK that carried GasGas and Fantic, not specifically related to the relationship between the GasGas and Fantic factories. The 50cc 2Ts look really cool, and the 4Ts look like they are taking aim at AJP.

I have not had much to say about this whole going out of business deal but . I would bet anyone $100. that someone will buy and be building GasGas bikes very quickly . If I was in that business I would snap up this company with NO DEBT and a large customer list that needs parts . I also feel that they will be a bike related company that may be able to capitalize on the customer base . Just my 2 cents worth . Now off to the world round !

The bikes will only resemble and feel like Gassers Of the past If They keep the people Who have been building them. The people make the bikes and they give two shitz Who is writing the checks.

The brand Is nothing without the people.

DBetter cut the crap too and try to find a real offroad market for the bikes.Old fart ,elitest hobbiests arent gonna pay the bills.

Need a strong amatuer race program in place with some Dealer Support and parts price breaks.A strong Dealer network that works together to make sure any racer in the country will have parts by the following weekend.

Recruit up and comers and give them Something They can win on.
Hurrah for the vet D and C classes. But quit kidding yourselves.Probably too late, been doing it too long.
No excuses.
No reason Gas Gas should not have been represented at bigger ama offroad races and ISDE qualifiers. This came up Once before.

Nothing But excuses and alot Of blah blah blah bullshit.
Told ya!

And Yeah JP things were deffinately Better in the good Old days
