Long throttle cable for raised bars on 2012

G'day,
I was wondering whether gofasters have a longer than stock throttle cable to use on the 2012?
I am planning on raising the bars and think I will need it,(I had one on the 07).
Also, as the tank hangs lower it would be handy to have an angled reinforced piece that comes out of the top of the carby.

Same throttle cable on the 2012 as the 09 and newer GasGas bikes per the fiche. Would be a good way to go to get extra cable to work with. The factory cable is fitted perfect for stock, but any change warrants the motion pro throttle cable.

I agree. Do you remember if the join closest to the carb has a bend in it?
This would be better if it did as the 12's tank hangs much lower than previously.

The older, longer Motion Pro cables had the the elbow, with they fit? Does the new OEM cable lack the card side elbow?

Yes the stock cable does lack an elbow and it makes it real hard to get the carb out without bending it.
This is why I want to make sure the longer motion pro has a bend

Someone posted a few weeks ago about getting a Motion pro extended KTM cable and it bolted on no issue. It was also the good one that threads in/difficult to dislodge and get stuck throttle

The motion pro KTM extended cable is the exact same size as the OEM one. It does have better ends in that they are already captures so you dont have to safety wire them. I think motion pro makes custom cables if you call them. I would ask for the KTM-extended in a plus size because of the captured ends. or make sure that they do that for the GasGas, the one I bought does not appear to be captured.


Hall's cycles ordered me on of the GasGas, I just opened the package, the ends are not captured, but it does have the GG bend at the carb. I think that the KTM is a better deal! If you want to order a longer gasgas: S/O 160851, I will compare the lengths tomorrow and repost....

As you say Glenn. I have spoken to Mark via emails and he has told me that they are still bent coming out the top of the carb( which will fit the 12 perfectly).
They are sending one over for me
I actually bent the cable outer sheath on my new bike getting the carb out.I reckon on the tank( didn't realise). The cable was fine for the bike but I reckon with my protect scotts underbar setup the cable wil be a little short.

Probably a blessing in disguise cos I would have kept riding it and dropped it or did something stupid before I get the Scorpion bashplate and radiator guards.

How long you going to be up here for? Port isn't far away really at all.. 45mins from my joint on a normal day. About 25 mins to one of the starting points to the trails. I'm sure I could arrange you a bike for a day if you wanted to have an explore. Even if its my old 250F
