Longer Kickstarter EC300

I can't start my bike 1st kick and certainly can't start 1st kick in gear when starting a HnH race. My KTM200 started 1st kick no problems so i'm thinking its the bigger capacity and smaller kickstarter. I've heard other kickstarters will fit the GG so what's the longest I can use?

Anyone else swap the stubby kickstarter for a longer one - was this a lot better?

I believe the ktm 200 kicker will work. My 06 had a kicker that looked like one when I bought it. It was ragged out so I went back to stock, but they are longer. swap em and give it a try.

Any new YZ250 kicker will work. They are about $150 brand new.

Some of the earlier year YZ250 kickstarters will NOT fit. I know from personal experience.

It has to be the newer design. I know the 2003 YZ250 kickstarter will work. I put one on my '01 XC300.

The '06 and newer stock GasGas 300 kickstarter is also longer.

Its not the kicker .. It is most likely a jetting or oil issue. My 06 300 used to start 2nd or 3rd kick or maybe after multiple kicks. I leaned out the pilot jet from a 45 to a 42 and it started to fire on the 1st kick every time. that was on mobil one 2t oil. I changed to golden spectro and it stopped firing on the 1st kick. Now it is back to being kinda pissy. I bet if i went with a full synthetic again it would fire 1st kick again. Firing up with the bike in gear could be related to the tranny oil you are running I lost my kicker after a ride aqnd gofasters sent me the yammie kicker ... much better than stock. In fact I would recommenr the yammie to anyone still running a stock kicker. keep the stock one for back up.

I usually use putoline 2t oil and teh KTM started ist kick with that no probs so don't think it's that. My jetting fairly lean at the bottom but I've tried a few different airscrew settings (which should greatly affect fuelling when kicking over right?) to little effect.

Yes the clutch does drag a bit but it's a new clutch - what else can I do I'm running very thin ATF at the moment so it has as little drag as it ever will....
