Actually, it was 2nd place between my friend and I... only at that moment. I ended up beating him at the end. Other photos show me beating him. Just some "friendly" racing between buddies.
Log Road is a great mx track located in Coldwater, MI. Very friendly to the non-mx bike guys (uhh, trailriders). Last Sunday (9/10/06) there was an open practice day and we had at least 50 riders in the beginner/trailrider group. I stayed at the front the pack each moto and only got passed by a handful of riders on 450cc four-stroke mx bikes. Pretty good for a newbie jumper. I'm proud to have jumped all of the doubles. Some of the doubles on the interior of the track have much greater distance. My poor GG got the guts wrung out of her getting enough speed to clear those doubles (13T x 52T sprockets doesn't help on the track!).
It was a great time and the track time has improved my confidence in the woods. Now, every little bump, log, or whoop is getting hit at higher speeds.
