Mitas trials tires?

I got one from a buddy who got it from Guy Cooper at a bike trade show. Coop liked it, and so do I, but I can't find them for sale. I found online that the company used to be called CGS, and had some affiliation with Barum/Trelleborg, I think. Kind of reading between the lines.

I found 4 styles of off road tires from Mitas but all are similar to Continental TKC 80s in appearance. The company also makes agricultural tires.

I sure would like to find another Mitas trials tire, the darn thing works great and is lasting like iron, and it's at least 5 yrs old. I got if free and put in the corner and forgot about it until early this year and used it. Usually a tire that sits that long will be dried out and not work, but not so with this little jewel.

Any info?

Jeff,
I'm a big fan of these too, best technical rock tire IMO. Mitas is currently restructuring their USA distribution, and availability will resume sometime soon I'm told.

I don't know about the trials tires as such, but Trelleborg and Mitas are now the same company. I do not know which compay bought the other, but Trelleborg does not make any tires in Sweden any more AFIK. I think all are made in the Czech Republic. From time to time I use the studded Trelleborg tires during the winter. They offer very good grip, are expensive and very difficult to change.

Jeff,
Got one with 85%+ tread you can have. We just need to get my lazy (skeered) riding buddy Greg on board for a Brock Creek ride. If I keep the words "School House" and "Copperhead" out of the conversation it's probably a done deal.

mx1canada.com is where i get my mitas tires. they ship anywhere as well.
I love their knobbies, have not gone the trials route yet. talk to Colin, very nice knowledgeable guy. tell him cactusreid sent you.
